P's & Q's Auto Body in Huntington, Long Island for Newsday / by Tadej Znidarcic

For an assignment for Newsday I went to photograph the atmosphere in a new bar/lounge, P's & Q's Auto Body in Huntington, Long Island, NY. P's & Q's is a new speakeasy that takes it's theme from the prohibition era in US. The bar is concealed as an auto body shop and inside is very dark and moody, and decorated with items from that historic period, 1920-1933. I aimed to preserve this secretive feel, photographing without a flash.

One of the great things about photography is you get to visit places you would otherwise probably never see. And I'm quite sure the chance to go on my own to a speakeasy in Huntington is probably smaller than travelling to...
