Photographs in a UNAIDS video / by Tadej Znidarcic

UNAIDS put together a short film about Dr. Stephen Watiti of Kampala, Uganda, who has been living with HIV for over 25 years. The film combines video shot by Nathan Ochole and my photographs. We visited Dr. Watiti at Mildmay hospital where he works and at his home. Dr. Watiti was a gracious and very accommodating as we asked him to take time from his busy schedule.

It's always challenging when there is photography and video done at the same time. You don't want to jump in each other's shots and clicking of the still camera shutter can affect the audio recording. It's great that me and Nathan can work as a team and respect and give each other space.

This video is a great short vignette about a remarkable man. (You can even see me working at the beginning...)  And below are some photographs from the shoot.
